The Rose Garden Enhancement Project is complete
Through the generosity of our donors, the EvergreenHealth Foundation was able to beautify the Rose Garden at the Gene and Irene Wockner Hospice Care Center. After months of diligent landscaping and architectural work, the enhancements are complete, and the roses are beginning to bloom.
Since 1991, the Rose Garden has been a place where the loved ones of hospice patients can go to seek respite and reflection. Many hospice patients can see the Rose Garden through the window of their patient rooms, making this view one of great significance to our patients and the people who care about them.
Despite being skillfully maintained by the EvergreenHealth grounds crew and hospice volunteers, the garden sustained some wear and tear over the past three decades. Donations for this project returned the Rose Garden to its original stature as a beautiful sanctuary and place of remembrance.
At the center of the garden is a fountain, but sprinkled along the paths throughout the commemorative gardens are memorial bricks honoring the memories of our cherished neighbors. Walk a little further toward the Alpine Gardens to see granite slates with intricate engravings sharing memories of those who have passed. Memorial bricks and granite slabs are gifts that support EvergreenHealth Hospice.
We invite the friends, family and donors who shared this gift with hospice to visit our updated Rose Garden to reflect and reminisce. Every brick tells a story, and we extend a heartfelt thanks to our supporters for sharing theirs with the EvergreenHealth Foundation.
