Video: Growing Heart Care at EvergreenHealth

EvergreenHealth gathered grateful patients, hospital leaders and donors for an intimate dinner where they shared a video illustrating plans to expand cardiology care capacity at the community hospital.

More patients require cardiology care in our community so EvergreenHealth has invested in a two-part expansion of heart care services at the hospital to meet this need. First the hospital is doubling the clinical space at the Phil and Katie Carter Heart Care Clinic. More space for clinical care means the hospital can hire more specialists to deliver a comprehensive spectrum of cardiology services from preventive heart care to more complex imaging and interventions. The hospital is also expanding surgical capacity across departments with the Built Together Project in the Silver Tower, adding a cardiac catheterization lab which will keep patients within the hospital system for these specialized services.

These projects are transformative for cardiology care at EvergreenHealth but involve substantial capital costs for the hospital.

“Philanthropy allows us to add services and update technology sooner than a nonprofit, public hospital, is able to do,” said EvergreenHealth cardiologist William Getchell, MD.

Community support will be essential to resourcing the heart care clinics with enhanced equipment and technology so EvergreenHealth cardiologists can practice their best medicine.
