Why philanthropy matters for hospice care
At EvergreenHealth, end-of-life care is available to all local families, regardless of their ability to pay, because of community support. EvergreenHealth operates one of the last inpatient hospice care centers in King and Snohomish Counties. The Gene and Irene Wockner Hospice Care Center was established on the Kirkland campus in the 1980s thanks to the generosity of local philanthropist, Irene Wockner. While other hospital systems have been forced to close hospice care programs due to the high cost of service, your donations sustain end-of-life care in our community, giving every local family the opportunity for meaningful goodbyes.
