Women's & Children's Services - Care for Our Future Campaign

Care for Our Future Campaign – Investing in Women’s and Children’s Care at EvergreenHealth

It takes a village. A sentiment shared by so many, including the many families who turn to EvergreenHealth in their time of need. What we treasure most about EvergreenHealth is that it took a village to build it, and that it remains a place shaped by our community and their health needs. Our story, which began nearly 50 years ago with the need for essential health services, including a family maternity center, in our community, is in need of a new chapter.

Five decades later, there’s a need for major upgrades and renovations to our community’s award-winning childbirth center, thoughtful expansion of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and investment in the services that care for women and children in our community.

EvergreenHealth Foundation’s Care for our Future Campaign will address the need for these upgrades and renovations by partnering with EvergreenHealth to provide financial support for these investments in women’s and children’s care. Growth and advancement of this magnitude for essential health services requires community support and deserves investment from families who understand how critical it is to have world-class healthcare in your own backyard when you need it most. Join us in investing in the next generation of families in our community – the truest examples of hope, born right here at EvergreenHealth.

What Your Investment Supports:

EvergreenHealth staff and clinical leaders came together to envision the future of Women’s and Children’s Services with a design that would meet and exceed the long-term needs of families in our community. In keeping with our organizational values, emphasis was placed on enhanced safety and patient experience; community choice; employee and provider experience – efficient, safe and collaborative – and expansion to accommodate future growth. As our children and families are growing, so are we!

Gifts to the Care for Our Future campaign will support this vision and, specifically, provide funding for:

  • Overall renovation of 34 labor and delivery rooms in the redesigned Family Maternity Center. New, state-of-the-art equipment in each room will include NICU level stabilization and resuscitation equipment ensuring immediate access to these life-saving tools for all newborns.
  • A new dedicated and secure entry to the Family Maternity Center; welcoming family spaces; private, quiet nonclinical spaces in the NICU for families to recharge; updated staff areas; and a large education room for staff, patients and community classes.
  • Additional level II and level III NICU patient rooms; increased capacity will allow for more families to stay in single occupancy rooms rather than “doubling up” with another family, while additional level III rooms will allow us to care for sicker babies and reduce the number of transfers out of our hospital.
  • A new six-bed Obstetric (OB) Emergency Department dedicated to the critical needs, observation and care of pregnant women.
  • Continued investment in the wrap-around services available for new parents and families before, during, and after childbirth.
